Conservation Area Proposal

Potential designation under discussion

Residents may soon be invited to participate in a public consultation regarding the possible designation of a conservation area in Hurst Park.

Conservation areas are typically introduced to help protect the historic character and appearance of neighbourhoods, ensuring that future development respects the distinctive features of the area.

Such designations can offer benefits, including stronger protections for architectural character and streetscape appearance. However, they may also introduce additional planning considerations and restrictions for property owners.

Because of this, it is important that residents have the opportunity to understand both the advantages and the implications before any decision is made.

Further details about the proposal and any consultation process will be shared once they become available.
