Hurst Park Quiz Night Raises Funds for the Community
Twenty-seven enthusiastic quizzers from across Hurst Park gathered at the Royal British Legion Club for a lively evening of friendly competition and community spirit.
Five teams took part in the quiz, each bringing their own sense of humour and creativity to their team names. From the tech-inspired Control/ALT/Delete from Kelvinbrook to the playful Molesey Meerkats from Tufton Gardens, the teams included Los Amigos from Linkfield, Keep Trying (Rod), and Every Little Helps from Tesco Hurst Park. The inventive names added to the relaxed and entertaining atmosphere of the evening.
The quiz featured eight rounds covering a wide range of topics, including Dingbats, History, Geography, Current Affairs and Music. Competition remained close throughout the evening, with all five teams performing strongly and keeping the scoreboard tight.
In the end, Control/ALT/Delete narrowly claimed victory, finishing just three points ahead of the other teams. Each member of the winning team received a bottle of wine as their prize.
Participants enjoyed sandwiches and crisps, and the evening provided a great opportunity for neighbours to meet, chat and enjoy time together in a friendly setting.
The event raised £110 for the Hurst Park Residents Association (HPRA). Funds raised at events like this help support local initiatives, maintain community activities and ensure the association can continue organising events that bring residents together.
Community gatherings such as the Quiz Night are an important part of life in Hurst Park. They help neighbours connect, strengthen local friendships and keep the community spirit alive.
The HPRA would like to thank everyone who participated and supported the event.
